Raja Dasharatha on guidelines of Maharshi Vashista performs the Putra Kaamesti Yajna along with this three wives.
In the above scene you can see the sacred fire(yajna) in the center, Raja Dasharatha with this three wives offering the Agni the sacrificial objects as part of the Yajna and Vashista is actually performing the Yajna.
Dasharatha is decorated with a broad ear rings, his crown is in visible along with tola bandi and gejje. Three queens are also decorated and all are performing the Yajna.
Vashista is holding the spoon which is used for performing the Yajna on behalf of the Karthru Dasharatha here and he is seated on the wooden platform(mane), one of his assistants is holding a gante(bell) and the other two are holding the pots which may be with objects used for Yajna such as oil,haralu, etc.,
The background is performed in a jungle, probably in a open space or in the Rishi's ashram. The Royal Umbrella are missing in this scene to show respect to the Gods and not the human beings. |
