Description about the temple
Sri.Bhagandeswara Temple complex houses Sri.Bhagandeswara, Sri.Subramanya and Sri.Narayana.
All three temples are facing east and appears to be more than 10 centuries old. Lot of additional work has been executed by various dynasties including the Wodeyars of Mysore.
The wooden carvings are note worthy which are present in the Sabha Mantapa or Kalyana Mantapa present right in front of Sri. Subramanya and Sri. Narayana temples. Also, the entrance to Bhagandeswara temple Kalyana Mantapa is beautifully carved and it is worth seeing.
The whole temple is enclosed with huge walls and it is typical to any Malnad style of temples. Also, a recent addition of Main Gopura which is typical Malnad style can be found.
Overall the temple is very beautifully located on the banks of three rivers Cauvery, Sujyothi and Kannika. Out of which one of them is a Gupta Gamini and flows underground. Ground water experts have confirmed it and as the legend says, the source of that river originates from the Sri.Subramanya temple.
Earlier this Kshetra was also known as Sri.Subramanya Kshetra.
Not covered under any act, but this is a site of archaeological importance as it contains beautiful

1.Bangalore - Mysore - Madikeri - Bhagamandala
Taking the Bangalore Mysore Highway and further continuing on the same road upto Madikeri is advisable. From Madikeri, you have to proceed towards Mangalore and after about 4 kms you are expected to take a left deviation to reach Bhagamandala
The nearest Railway junction is at Mysore.
Nearest Airport is Mysore.

Amenities and other useful details
Restaurant : It will be a good idea to carry something from Mysore or Madikeri as the restaurants do not serve all the things you want.
Hotel: There are quite a few hotels to stay at Bhagamandala, also you find lot of Homestays as well. It is also a good option to stay at Madikeri and explore the surroundings.
ATM: There is no ATM available, so better carry cash before you travel.
Transportation: KSRTC buses ply from Maidkeri and Kushalnagara, but it is good if you can manage with your own vehicle as you will save time. Direct buses from Bangalore and Mysore also connects Bhagamandala with rest of the state.
Fuel Station: One fuel station is available, but it is good if you could get it filled in Madikeri itself.
Health Care: Primary Health Care Center is available, but nearest District hospital is at Madikeri in case of emergencies.
