Description about the temple
Sri.Banashankari temple is another master piece of Calukyan architecture. This temple is a dvikuta and has got Banashankari facing East and a Linga facing South.
The Navaranga Mantapa is studded with beautifully carved pillars with images of Vishnu, Narasimha, Ganapati, Brahma, Shiva, Parvati, etc., The main attraction in the temple is the sabha mantapa and these pillars. Along with this, the main shrine is built in Nagara style and the other shrine is not yet restored.
Currently the restoration work is going on it should be completed by early 2011. I would again re write the description.
